Must I book and complete the registration online?

YES: All bookings must be made online in advance to ensure you can get the day and time you want. If there appears to be nothing available on the day you want to book it is because all sessions are taken.

 

You must ensure that you (if you have a party of people) – everyone in the party has completed their details and the disclaimer online before arriving. If you have to complete these details at the reception area we are sharing, there will be a £5 administration charge for each registration made at reception.

 

We are sharing the reception and changing facilities with the Water Sports Centre and have limited space. We ask your group leader collects your boarding passes to avoid overcrowding at reception. By booking in advance and completing the registration online you can simply turn-up, collect your wrist bands from reception and go get ready for action!  This avoids QUEUING

 

Please remember before booking that all ticket sales are final. 

CAN YOU TELL ME WHAT THE AVAILABILITY IS ON THE AQUA PARK / WHY CANT SEE ANY SESSIONS AVAILABLE ON THE DAY I WANT?

Availability changes second by second in real time & the best way to check is for you to go online at www.apr.sports-booker.com select the number of people you want to book for, then click on the date you want to attend.

 

If no sessions are showing it means everything is fully booked. If only a small number of sessions are showing with a Green Cross, it means there is availability for you and your party on any of those sessions.

 

Book it quickly if you want it!

CAN I GET A REFUND?

No: All tickets or vouchers purchased are non-refundable. If for any reason you miss your briefing you will not be allowed on your session. We will not refund you, but will try our best to get you on another session if one is available later that day.

DO I HAVE TO WEAR A WETSUIT?

YES: All ticket purchases included the use of a wetsuit free of charge whether you use it or not. Which you must return after your session.

 

You can bring your own wetsuits if you wish, but ours are available free.

 

A wetsuit must be worn for your safety and comfort.

CAN I BOOK A WETSUIT TO HIRE ONLINE?

NO: When you book and pay for your ticket the free hire of a wetsuit for that session is automatically included.

ARE THERE AGE RESTRICTIONS AND DO ADULTS HAVE TO ACCOMPANY CHILDREN IN THE WATER?

Children Aged 6 And 7 Years Old and over 1.2m tall

Can only attend the special 10:00 am session from July 15th, provided that an adult or guardian of 18+ is present on the aqua park with them, on a 1 adult to 3 children ratio.

 

Children Aged 8 To 15 Inclusive and over 1.3m tall

Can attend any session but must have either a parent or guardian on shore or on the aqua park with them. However we recommend children aged 13 years and under use the young person session at 10:00 am every day from 15th July.

DO I HAVE TO BE PART OF A GROUP OR PARTY?

NO: We take individuals, groups and private parties. 

DO I HAVE TO BE ABLE TO SWIM?

Yes: you must be able to swim 50m with a buoyancy aid and unaided by others. You are likely to go under water and should be confident in the water. You also have to swim to the Aqua Park to gain access.

CAN I WEAR SHOES?

NO:  you cannot wear trainers, or hard soled shoes.

 

You can wear wetsuit boots, otherwise barefoot is fine.

MUST I REMOVE ALL OF MY JEWELLERY?

Yes: All jewellery must be removed before you enter the park. This includes ALL removable earrings. If you have recently had any piercings we can provide tape to cover them.

CAN I PARTICIPATE IF I AM PREGNANT?

We strongly advise you not to participate if you are pregnant.

CAN I BRING MY WATERPROOF CAMERA ONTO THE AQUA PARK?

YES: all cameras MUST be secured by a chest harness. We cannot be held responsible for any lost devices – wearing a camera is at your own risk. If lost the water is very deep in excess of 12m.

CAN I WEAR MY SPECTACLES?

NO:  you cannot wear your spectacles on the aqua park, prescription goggles are a good alternative

DO I HAVE TO BE PHYSICALLY FIT TO TAKE PART?

MODERATELY: You do have to be able to pull yourself up out of the water, and it can be very tiring. You don’t have to be very fit to take part; however it is a very active sport.

CAN I BRING A PICNIC OR FOOD WITH ME?

Absolutely, bring a picnic and a flask of hot drink. There are also cafes such as Harbour Café on site serving hot and cold food and drink.

CAN I WEAR SWIMMING GOGGLES?

Yes you can wear swimming goggles.

CAN I WEAR FANCY DRESS?

No: Unfortunately, you cannot wear any loose clothing on the aqua park, therefore we do not allow any fancy dress of any sort on the park.

I WANT TO BOOK THE AQUA PARK FOR THE EXCLUSIVE USE OF MY GROUP, WHAT DO I NEED TO DO?

YOU CAN, however the park can accommodate up to 100 people and cost of exclusive hire is £2000 per 50 minute session. If you still want to book for exclusive hire, decide when you want to come along and contact us by email info@aquaparkrutland.co.uk  IMPORTANT please use the word MANGER in the subject line of the email and put your phone number in the email and we will arrange your booking.

CAN I WATCH FROM THE SHORE AND DO I HAVE TO PAY?

You can watch from the shore and it won’t cost you anything.

GUESS WHAT – The Park is more than twice as big this year!

HOW LONG PRIOR TO MY SESSION SHOULD I ARRIVE?

It is your responsibility to arrive on time. Allow at least 45 minutes before your session. Therefore if your session was at 11.15am, we advise that you arrive by 10.30 am.

 

This gives you time to check in, get changed and be briefed. Our safety briefing takes place 15 minutes before each session starts and must be attended by anyone going on the park.

 

If you miss your briefing and entry time you will not be allowed onto the Aqua Park. If there is space at another time that day we may be able to get you onto the park, but we cannot guarantee this.

 

PLEASE NOTE: There are NO REFUNDS and tickets are not transferable to other dates, it is your responsibility to arrive in good time.

IS THE AQUA PARK FUN FOR ADULTS AS WELL AS CHILDREN?

YES: the aqua park is fun and challenging for both adults and children, there are parts of the park that the adults will struggle with, and other parts the children will struggle with, but it is great fun for everyone.

WHAT CLOTHING CAN I WEAR?

You must wear a swimming costume on the park and underneath your wetsuit, and you must wear your wetsuit at all times whilst in or on the Aqua Park. Unfortunately, we cannot accept anybody wearing loose clothing as it presents a hazard.

WHAT HAPPENS IF IT’S RAINING?

You still take part in the rain. Our theory is…you are going to get wet anyway!!… It is good fun in the rain.

WHAT HAPPENS IF THERE IS A STORM?

If we have a storm over head then we will pause and resume once the storm has passed. Then your time will continue as normal. This does mean we may have to delay later sessions if this does occur.

CAN I LEAVE BEFORE MY 50 MINUTES IS UP?

Yes: you can leave before your session is up, however you cannot return to the aqua park once you have left.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I AM STUCK IN TRAFFIC?

We are not responsible for your journey or traffic which during weekends and bank holidays can be very slow.

 

Unfortunately we cannot get you onto the park if you miss your briefing session. We will try our best to help you, but we cannot be held responsible for your arrival, please remember there are NO REFUNDS.

ARE THERE FISH IN THE LAKE?

YES: there are many fish in the lake both large and small.

CAN I BOOK ONTO THE AQUA PARK FOR MORE THAN 1 SESSION ON THE SAME DAY?

Yes you can, but you need to make separate bookings, and make us aware on arrival you have more than 1 session booked. Please note it is quite tiring and normally one 50 minute session is enough for the average person.

IS THERE A CAR PARK NEAR?

Yes: there is loads of parking at Rutland Water Park on Whitwell creek car park. Please note parking fees are payable.

WHERE CAN I STORE MY POSSESSIONS?

You are responsible for your possessions.

 

There are small lockers that will hold a small bag and your keys. These lockers require a padlock that you can bring yourself or buy at reception.

 

Please do not ask our staff to look after your valuables as they are NOT permitted to do so.

ARE THERE ANY CONCESSIONARY RATES?

There are no concessions on the aqua park.

ARE THERE SHOWERS OR CHANGING FACILITIES?

Yes, we share the facilities at Rutland Water Sports Centre.

 

These facilities are basic male and female changing facilities, with shower and toilets.

 

They are small and will be very busy as they are a part of the sailing centre so a changing robe like you take to the beach is a good idea on warm days. Remember bring a towel and as facilities are basic there are no electric point for hairdryers etc.

CAN I CANCEL MY BOOKING?

All bookings are full and final and are non-refundable and non-transferable.

 

If you are more than 10 days from your session date you can cancel your tickets and get a full credit back to your aqua park account.

 

You can then use this credit to pay for new bookings.  When you go to check-out just click on the green button that says “Use Credit on my Account £xx”

 

If you are inside the 10 day period and cancel you will lose your booking and not receive any credit

IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE TO DO AT RUTLAND WATER PARK?

There are lots of activities at Rutland Water Sports Centre where you can Kayak, canoe, paddle board and build a raft (at certain times). There is also a cycle centre and climbing wall.

 

Rutland Cycling

 

Located next to the Aqua Park, Rutland Cycling offers quality hire bikes, perfect for exploring up to 23 miles of traffic-free cycling around Britain’s largest man-made lake. CAN I FIND A CAFE or PUB CLOSE TO THE AQUA PARK?

Yes. There are a couple of cafes.

 

Harbour Cafe serves hot and cold food and drinks within a few hundred metres of the Aqua Park.  There is also another café a short walk away close to the cycling centre.

 

The closest Pub that serves hot and cold food and has rooms is just a few hundred metres from the turning to the Aqua Park in Whitwell and is The Noel at Whitwell.

WHERE IS YOUR SITE?

We are located at the Rutland Water Sports Centre at Whitwell Creek on the North Shore of Rutland Water.
